The History of Aggretsuko's Appearance
Netflix Anime Series. For the first time, a day in the life of the heroine was shown in a series of short animated films for the Japanese television network TBS in 2016. She gained true popularity in Japan and abroad after the release of a full-fledged anime series on Netflix in 2018. It has 5 seasons, the last one debuted in February 2023.
Comics. In 2020, Oni Press released the first series of comics, which became a print adaptation of the third season of the Netflix anime series.

Aggretsuko Plot
The series revolves around the complex office life of a young woman in Japan. Retsuko works as an accountant at a trading company, enduring daily disrespect from grumpy department heads and unpleasant colleagues. She suffers from overtime and loneliness, and is a modest and non-confrontational girl.
After 5 years of corporate slavery, Retsuko finds a place where she can release her emotions. After finishing work, the heroine goes to a karaoke bar and screams heavy metal. The series is filled with the girl's reflections, work moments and relationships with colleagues, and the search for a better life and love.
Main Aggretsuko Characters
Retsuko — the main character, a 25-year-old red panda who suffers from office routine. In Japanese, the character's name translates as "child of rage". The young girl undergoes a daily struggle with an intolerable lifestyle: she wants to quit, but reluctantly returns when there are no other options.
Director Ton — Retsuko's strict boss in the image of a pig, who has many outdated beliefs. He constantly points out that a woman should serve tea and fulfill his whims. The grumpy director offends Retsuko and sets the overall mood in the team.
Fenneko — Retsuko's closest friend and colleague at work. She loves to criticize everyone and everything, is cynical and quite perceptive. Fenneko is more calmly enduring the boss's bullying, has a close relationship with Haida and a rivalry with Tsunoda.
Director Gori — a gorilla woman, marketing director at the company where Retsuko works. They go to yoga together, often discussing failed romantic relationships. Gori strives to find true love.
Washimi — the CEO's bird secretary, a very hardworking and wise lady. She often gives Retsuko advice, and is forced to control the director's behavior.
Haida — a spotted hyena, Retsuko's colleague, who is in love with her. He is shy and often observes Retsuko from a distance, wishing her happiness. Haida is a passionate punk rock fan and plays bass guitar.
Resasuke — works in the sales department, Retsuko's ex-boyfriend. He loves plants, speaks with mysterious pauses, and performs work irresponsibly.

The Aggretsuko license in Kite designs is a combination of a shy and determined panda who wants to change her life. This character embodies the struggle against a toxic work environment and the uncontrollable desire to break free from it.
